Cochran Coding Academy ("we" or "us") respects the importance of your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines our current policy on the personal information of website customers (known as "Users") and class participants (known as "Participants"). It covers the use of our website under cochrancoding.com (the "Site"), classes hosted on Zoom (the "Classes"), and any transaction of information between Users and Cochran Coding Academy.

Through the Site, we are providing Users with information regarding services offered by us, including educational programs for children and adults, (a) in addition to the Site, third-party software platforms such as Zoom, (b) social media platforms, (c) payment and payment plans (known as "Package Deals"), (d) class content, (e) any information needed to attend booked classes, (f) the display of the Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy, and (g) to complete customer satisfaction surveys about our Services.

This Privacy Policy applies to the use of Your Information as a result of your using the Site, Classes, and Services, and does not apply to the following:​

INFORMATION COLLECTION
We may collect information directly from you or from third parties, as well as information collected automatically.

Information collected directly from you:
When you use the Site and Services, you may be asked to enter certain information such as your legal name, email address, phone number, etc ("Personally Identifiable Information" or "PII"), and information about your children, if any, that you make available to us (eg, name and birthdate). When you make a purchase through the Site, we will collect your billing information, including your payment information and your PII. We also collect information about you when you contact us or file a dispute against a purchase you made using the Site.

We may ask you to share content you or your child made in the Classes ("User Generated Content") to use for marketing purposes exclusively on the Site and not through any third party (ie. to use as the picture for a Class). We will not use such User Generated Content in marketing without your explicit consent. We may also ask you to give a testimonial about your experience doing business with us. You expressly agree and acknowledge that we may access in real-time, store, or archive any records of User Generated Content or testimonials for use with the Site, Classes, and Services.

Information collected from third parties:
We may also collect information from third parties, such as our web provider, Wix.com, Inc., or Zoom Video Communications, Inc. about your usage and experience with using the Services. You may interact with third-party sources in connection with the Site, Classes, and Services, and we may collect information about you from these sources. For example, if you use or interact with the Sites and Services of these sources, then we will receive certain information about you from those sources automatically.
Any information about you that we collect from such third-party sources will be subject to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy and may also be subject to the privacy policies and practices of such sources. You should review all terms of use and privacy policies of such sources before disclosing information to them. If you have any questions about how these sources use your information or their respective terms of use or privacy policies, you should contact them directly.

While using the Site, Classes, and Services, we may collect certain information about you automatically, such as your IP address, web browser, and browser cookies. We may combine this information with other PII about you (and third-party service providers may do so on our behalf). Users of the Site and Classes who disable cookies will be able to access certain parts of the Site and Classes, but some features may not function.

RETENTION OF DATA
Cochran Coding Academy will only retain Your Information for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. Any Your Information or PII will be erased from our records following 180 days of your last booked Class only if you do not have any active Package Deals and if we are not required to retain it for longer to comply with local laws. You will be notified about an extension to the retention of your data and the reason for that extension. If you have any unused Package Deals following 180 days of your last Class, the retention of your data will be extended to 180 days following the use of the last booking on your Package Deal. You will not be notified about a data retention extension caused by unused Package Deals. You can request a copy of Your Information and all PII we have about you and your dependents or for Your Information and PII to be erased from our records at any time by contacting support@cochrancoding.com.
You acknowledge and agree that we will retain your email address and IP address indefinitely if you violate any part of the Terms of Use to warrant a termination. You also agree and acknowledge that if you request Your Information and PII to be erased from our records, you may lose bookings of any Classes or any purchased Package Deals without a refund. If we receive an erasure request from you, we will warn you if you have any pending Class Bookings or unused Package Deals and if you still want to move forward with the erasure. If you have been terminated from using the Services and we receive an erasure request from you, we will erase all data about you excluding your IP address and your email address. We will remind you about the termination and the implications of submitting an erasure request while being terminated and if you still want to move forward with the request.
TRANSFER OF DATA
Your Information, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.

If you are located outside United States and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Your Information, to United States and process it there.

Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.

We will not share your credit card number or any other financial information with any third party except to complete your transaction and to verify your credit card information. We may share Your Information and PII with third parties in the following instances:

We may disclose Your Information in order to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims. In addition, since our database is a business asset, in the event we are reorganized or sold to or merged with another company, we may sell, assign, or transfer Your Information to a purchaser of all or substantially all of our business assets, or to an affiliate, as applicable. We also may provide Your Information to our affiliates and related entities without restriction.

We use automated devices and applications, such as Google Analytics, to evaluate usage of the Sites. We also may use other analytic means to evaluate the Services. We use these tools to help improve the Services, performance, and user experiences. These third-party entities may use cookies and other tracking technologies to perform their services. We do not share your PII with these third parties.

Do-Not-Track
Currently, the Site does not support do-not-track features in certain web browsers. You can still limit tracking through other methods discussed in this Privacy Policy (i.e. by disabling cookies).
COMMUNICATION
Users who utilize the Site and Services to make a purchase or the booking of a Class will receive a number of emails and SMS notifications regarding the Classes and Services. These include notifications (a) after a credit card transaction, (b) if a User leaves items in their cart, (c) if a scheduled class time is changed or canceled, (d) the decline or approval of a trial session, (e) to remind the User of an upcoming Class, (f) after the booking of a Class by the User, (g) if a trial class is pending confirmation, (h) if a requested time for a Class is full or has already been booked, (i) if a Package Deal is terminated, (j) if a User's payment information has been saved or updated, and (k) if the User requests to reset their password. We may also send out notifications related to the Services, such as if the Site is down for maintenance. Generally, these messages are not promotional, and by opening an account, you agree and acknowledge that you cannot opt out of these notifications completely as long as your account stays open.
SECURITY
While we take reasonable precautions to ensure the protection of Your Information and PII, we cannot guarantee that such information won't be disclosed to persons or entities that are not associated with us. By using the Services, you release Cochran Coding Academy from any claims regarding the loss, theft, interception, or public leaking of Your Information and PII by third-party persons or entities.
EXTERNAL LINKS
The Site and Services may contain links to external websites and services. Please note that we do not have any control over the processing of Your Information on these external websites and that any collection or usage of Your Information on these sites is not bound by this Privacy Policy. Each site has its own privacy policy, and you are bound to the privacy policy of whatever site you are redirected to. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any external site, including our service providers.
CHILDREN UNDER 13
We support the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"), and we minimize the collection of data from Participants under 13 while permitting them active participation in the Classes and Services that we provide. We have the collection of information on kids under 13 limited to their first name and date of birth, which is provided by their parent/guardian upon booking a Class. Children under 13 are not allowed to access the Site or book Classes to avoid any accidental data collection from our Service Providers.
